WSU reschedules COVID-19 Town Hall out of respect for statewide day of action

Washington State University has postponed its COVID-19 Town Hall meeting scheduled for Friday, June 12 in recognition of the call by Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County for a statewide day of action to support all Black lives in the state of Washington.

The leadership of WSU will be using the time that we would have spent participating in the town hall to engage in personal reflection and self-education on the subject of systemic racism. We encourage you to join us.

There are many resources available online that can help us all learn more about institutional inequality. For example, the Washington Post has compiled a series of stories, videos, photo essays and other materials that explore systemic racism in America. While this list is by no means exhaustive, it is one place to start.

Washington State University will host its next COVID-19 Town Hall session on Wednesday, June 24 at 4 p.m. In the meantime, please visit the WSU COVID-19 website for the latest news and information regarding the University’s response to the pandemic.
